After going to Africa in 2006, I decided to go to Panama for the month of July 2007. This trip was very physically and spiritually draining. We were in the midst of the Darrien Jungle, bringing the natives the hope of Jesus Christ. Many times we were confronted by witch doctors and evil spirits. It was then that I realized the seriousness of the moment. That there were good and evil forces at work in our world.
Our team was known as 'Mimetes' which is the greek word for 'Imitator'. We chose this name because of Ephesians 5:1-2 where it says, "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.". We strived to reflect Jesus in every aspect of our lives - not only during ministry times. Panama was a time that I changed my outlook on life. I was finally able to realize that I am not a Christian because I go on mission trips or go to church. I am a Christian because I follow Christ every day of my life. If you would like to see more pictures, videos and testimonies from the trip, just click the button at the bottom of the page.
